Diamond & Quantum Weekly | Jun 15–21, 2026
Element Six and Orbray reported a reproducible three-inch process, progress on two-inch products, and four-inch development; a 300-reactor tender remained a separate capacity-preparation signal.
Weekly signal
The week’s strongest evidence came from wafer-scale supply rather than equipment count.
Element Six and Orbray reported a reproducible three-inch single-crystal process, two-inch products approaching application-specific production stages, and four-inch development. The significance was repeatable wafer supply for thermal, epitaxial, quantum, and semiconductor work—not diameter alone. The announcement still omitted yield, cost, and customers.
Power Diamond published a tender involving 300 MPCVD systems rated above 10 kW and supporting equipment. A tender is a public capacity-preparation signal. It is not proof of equipment arrival, process maturity, customer qualification, or revenue.
The evidence hierarchy was clear: a process and product-stage announcement addressed manufacturing output; a tender addressed intended input capacity. Both were relevant, but they did not support the same conclusion.
Evidence limits and uncertainties
- The wafer announcement omitted yield and customer data; a tender does not prove equipment delivery or qualified production.
