Diamond and MPCVD
CETC’s 48th Research Institute reported a first high-power diamond MPCVD prototype entering user validation. Validation is more meaningful than a launch photograph, but it is still prior to accepted delivery, repeatability, and application qualification.
Reports of higher industrial-diamond prices were linked to expectations around AI-chip cooling. The pricing move was worth tracking, but it could not establish that thermal-management orders were the cause or that the increase would persist.
USC-related research was followed as a technical signal rather than an industrial milestone.
Quantum technology
TuringQ announced a new financing round involving a national-level fund, signalling deeper public-capital participation in photonic quantum computing. Taiwan’s economic authorities also appeared in quantum-policy reporting during the week.
